Ringwood Trails in Jeopardy

Last year Ringwood State Park officials had decided that three illegally built jumps that landed on existing trails, were dangerous and had to be removed. I am very sad to report that two of these jumps have been rebuilt and the park has called in the Park Police to investigate the situation. The park plans to handle illegal trail building like vandalism of natural resources.

Sad day for Alexandria Pump Track fans

JORBA is saddened to report that the Alexandria Pump Track, the first of its kind in New Jersey, is permanently closed. Many factors have led to the closure, not the least of which being the rising cost of insurance and the litigious nature of our state. We put forth our best effort to reopen the track this spring, but unfortunately we were unsuccessful. (See http://www.jorba.org/node/915 for more details).

All JORBA activities on hold

Recreational Trails Program at Risk

While at least a portion of the funds for 2013 grants were appropriated, the NJDEP has reassigned those who administered the program. As a result, unless personnel are assigned back to the program, 2013 grants and 2014 grants are at risk. JORBA is responding to this concern on behalf of the trail user community.
