Time well spent...TM with JORBA

Your park representatives want to create more and better quality trails for you to enjoy. To make that happen, they need tools and supplies often not available from the land management agency. JORBA applies for grants on behalf of these parks to obtain the tools and supplies needed to improve the trails. The grants require matching contributions, and this is often accomplished through volunteer hours. When you volunteer for JORBA sanctioned trail maintenance, your time and effort is utilized to the fullest extent. Not only by the work you perform but also by the equity you have invested.

Trail Conditions at the Tourne

The meeting minutes from the Morris County Park Commission mention that the impact bikes are having on the trails is becoming excessive. JORBA would like to remind riders to stay on designated trail corridors and not to follow "alternate lines". We need to minimize our impacts on the trails as much as possible to avoid future repercussions.

Forest Stewardship Plan for Weldon Brook WMA

JORBA has been acting as a representative for the Mountain Bike community to the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife for several years. This effort has helped us maintain, and expand access to Wildlife Management Area (WMA) trails. These lands have been preserved primarily to, maintain water quality and provide habitat for wildlife, including endangered species. Unlike state parks, which are developed and funded for recreation, WMA’s are managed with a priority on wildlife.
