Event will celebrate NJ mountain biking
Stanhope — The Jersey Off-Road Bicycle Association (JORBA) has scheduled the 4th Annual Bike Festival for Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Waterloo Concert Field, in Stanhope. (Rain date: June 19,)
The bike festival will feature guided trail rides in Allamuchy North, Deer Park and Stephens State Park for all skill levels including women’s only rides and children’s rides. Self guided biking loops will also be available.
Festival participants can test out bikes from a variety of demo trailers or brush up on bike handling by participating in one of many skills clinics offered throughout the day.
A staple in JORBA’s bike festival, this year will again feature raffles including items like brand new bikes, bike shop gift cards and other gear. There will also be lots of industry vendors and food.
Once again, JORBA will be conducting a food drive at the festival to benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which supplies food to programs at nearly 1,500 non-profit charities in 19 New Jersey Counties.
As both an educational and charitable organization, JORBA encourages volunteerism and responsible riding, while advocating off road cycling as a healthy, environmentally sound, and sustainable activity. Working closely with land managers, park officials, and other trail user groups, JORBA seeks to protect the rights and responsibilities of cyclists as equal members of the trail user community. With over 500 members at chapters throughout New Jersey, JORBA actively works toward conservation, development and maintenance of trails.
