Highlands Preserve is a Passaic county park formerly know as Sancap. All the trails are either double track ATV trails or single track moto trails.
Trails are partially blazed. Green trail has multiple stream crossings, which may be impassable in wet weather or after a rain. Green and Yellow are doubletrack quad trails the middle part of Blue is singletrack moto trail. The eastern part of the red trail runs along a ridge with views over Greenwood Lake. White makes a partial loop that is crisscrossed by moto trails and Orange peters out into a moto trail that runs parallel to the Yellow woods road.
The park is heavily used by off road vehicles and as a result there are a lot of unmarked trails. However, it’s pretty hard to get lost as long as you don’t go up the mountain.
