The JORBA Chapter is Funding a New MTB Trail in Sterling Forest
Did you know that Palisades MTB is a chapter of both IMBA and JORBA? Well, they are! They formed the organization in 2015 and advocate for mountain bike access in Bergen, Rockland and Orange Counties.
Right now, they’re about to begin Phase 3 of a multi-phase project to add to and improve the trails at Sterling Forest in Tuxedo, NY. And they need your help! Time is of the essence with work beginning in April! They are currently underfunded with the bulk of this phase having been paid for out of pocket by PMTB board members and JORBA.
The new segment of trail will be a realignment of the existing Redback connector which is currently an unsustainable fall line trail. The trail conditions make it necessary to implement machine building. But don’t worry! They’ll keep just enough rocks for a great techy challenge and this will become the only “black” rated trail in Sterling!
