JORBA Trail & Community Accomplishments:

  • In 2024, The Jersey Off Road Bicycle Association (JORBA) has been working around the state of New Jersey to create destination riding areas as well as enhance and maintain beloved legacy trail systems.
    • In 2024, JORBA affiliated chapters maintained ~1,500 individual trails spanning approximately 2,100 miles* of mountain bike trails across the Rock Garden State*
    • Mountain Bikers in NJ are quite active, logging 390K+ rides in 2024*
  • New trail development projects are currently in play at Stephens State Park (Hackettstown, NJ), Perrineville Lake Park (Millstone, NJ), Clayton Park (Upper Freehold, NJ), Washington Valley Park (aka Chimney Rock/Camp Cromwell, Bridgewater, NJ), Sterling Forest (Tuxedo, NY) and Wawayanda State Park (Hewitt, NJ) to name a few. 
  • ~15 New Miles of sustainable Mountain bike trails built at the following NJ parks:
    • Chimney Rock/Camp Cromwell
    • Perrinville
    • Clayton
    • Sterling Forest
  • Chapter Leadership reinvigorated at many parks across the Rock Garden State
    • Deer Park: New Chapter Lead: Matt Bender
    • Allamuchy: New Chapter Lead: Tim Pierce
    • Nassau Trails: New Chapter & Lead: Jeremy Short
    • Mahlon Dickerson Reservation: New Chapter & Lead:  Karl Weiss
    • Stephens State Park: New Chapter Lead: Matt Biront
    • Kittatinny Valley State Park: New Park Superintendent & New Opportunities
  • Extensive trail system enhancements and maintenance projects were executed during the summer of 2024 at Ringwood State Park (Ringwood, NJ), Jungle Habitat/RSP (West Milford, NJ), Sterling Forest (Tuxedo, NY), Lewis Morris Park (Morristown NJ), Hartshorne Woods Park (Highlands, NJ), Washington Valley Park (aka Chimney Rock/Camp Cromwell, Bridgewater, NJ), Perrineville Lake Park (Millstone, NJ) and Clayton Park (Upper Freehold, NJ) to name a few.

JORBA Events

  • JORBA Fest/NJ Mountain Bike Festival: 9/22/2024:  ~300 mountain bikers in attendance!
  • Fundraiser Anthill Films: JORBA & NICA co-hosted a Movie Premiere
  • JORBA Chainsaw safety training: 9 attendees completed the training
  • Chapter Leader Appreciation Day did not occur in 2024 due to insurance limitations but will happen in 2025.  Stay Tuned!

JORBA Strategic initiatives

  • First, a paid staff member was added to the volunteer staff at jorba.org. Ken Seebeck was added as interim Executive Director in November of 2024 for a six-month term.  JORBA is currently writing a position description for a permanent ED to begin our search for this important resource.
  • The Chapter Committee hit its stride in helping streamline tool and resource acquisition for JORBA chapters.
    • New processes and supporting documents developed for the identification, evaluation and on-boarding for new Chapter Leaders.
  • JORBA Ride Insurance Policy:  JORBA Rides are Back for 2025!
  • New website in development alongside new E-Commerce Platform, New JORBA Merchandise Shop and CRM for marketing, outreach and member engagement.
  • Extensive member development/engagement, fundraising and community organization being planned for 2025 and beyond.
