There will be a half marathon in Sterling Forest starting from Caretakers lot on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. You might want to avoid the trails during the race, but if you do ride as always please yield to runners.

Trail Closures at Sourland Mountain Preserve

The Somerset County Park Commission have closed the yellow trail at the connector. Devil’s Half Acre and the yellow trial going around is CLOSED until further notice. The pink trail going through Devil’s Half Acre is CLOSED until further notice.

Avid Trails was back with the help of JORBA volunteers to tune in the trails. The top half of green trail is totally dialed. 80% of blue trail is revised and absolutely awesome. Check it out and let us know what you think. They are not done yet but the big projects are taken care…

Jungle Habitat Trail Expansion Approved
.
Tapawingo, a joint JORBA and NYNJTC project to improve the trail network adjacent to Jungle Habitat has been approved. Initially you might see some changes in the blazes, and then improved connectivity to Jungle Habitat from the old Hewitt Butler Trail. Eventually we plan on adding a new trail and making the woods roads sustainable.
