Tourne Park TM – Red Trail -> Sunday November 2nd, 9am-Noon

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news!  As many of you know, mountain biking has been prohibited on the red trail in Mountain Lakes since 1999. For 26 years, JORBA and the broader biking community have worked tirelessly to change that—and in 2025, we succeeded.

Thanks to JORBA’s advocacy and close collaboration with the Morris County Park Commission and the Mountain Lakes Woodlands Advisory Committee, the Red Trail has officially been reclassified as multi-use. Even better, we’re now moving forward with a full reroute and redesign of the trail on the Mountain Lakes side.

This will be a major undertaking, with construction continuing into 2026. We’re excited to bring new life to this trail and to make it a sustainable and improved trail for all user groups.

Please consider joining us on Sunday November 2^nd from 9am-Noon as we break ground on this historic project.

– We will meet at the Crestview Road trailhead (between 89 and 75 Crestview).

This trailhead has limited parking (6-7 cars) and is in a nice residential area. Please park on the wooded side of the road as close to other cars as possible.

– Please bring water and work gloves (we have a few extra pairs if you don’t have any).  Tools will be supplied.

– Please RSVP since parking is limited.  We may need to also use a 2^nd parking spot down the street if we have a larger group.
