Stephens State Park

Stephens State Park runs along the southern side of the Musconetcong River. This is an emerging jewel of the area and is quickly becoming a destination in it’s own with 35 + miles of trails (if not more). Many of the trails are recovered heritage trails though some trails have been built from scratch by the ever-persistent Stratocaster. With a single road crossing you can jump into Deer Park and/or Allamuchy which turns this into a big, multi-hour ride. One of the intermediate JORBAfest loops goes into Stephens.

Maintenance is carried out by volunteers. Help us keep the trails in their best condition!

Trail Conditions and Features:

The park’s trails are characterized by a mix of rocky terrains, technical rock gardens, and flowy sections. Riders can expect to encounter a variety of obstacles, including roots, rocks, and elevation changes, providing a comprehensive mountain biking experience. The trails are generally well-marked, but some unblazed paths may require navigation skills.

Facilities and Amenities:

Parking is available at various trailheads, including Kinney Road by the Iron Gate for the Stephen’s State Park Trail. It’s advisable to check the park’s official website for the most current information on parking and trail conditions before your visit.
